Adam Young, CPA, CA
“We put a lot of thought and work into building relationships with our clients and bring much to the table, including solid communication skills, thoughtful planning, strong technical abilities and professionalism. Our clients know that, after all is said and done, we’re looking after their interests. I’m proud of the way that our staff and our partners look after our clients. I’m also proud of the way that we look after each other. We bring integrity, knowledge, professionalism and commitment to our work and we have a lot of fun doing it.”
Adam began his accounting career working as a co-op student while attending Wilfrid Laurier University. In 2009, after three co-op terms and ten years in public practice with a national firm, Adam joined Secker Ross & Perry LLP. Adam became a partner in the firm in 2012.
Adam focuses his work on small and medium-sized companies and not-for-profit organizations. He enjoys delivering assurance services, providing advice on structuring and tax planning matters and acting as a sounding board on the myriad of decisions and challenges that arise throughout the life cycles of his clients.
In addition to nurturing relationships with our clients and our team members, Adam is committed to investing in our local community. Adam has taught as a part-time instructor at St. Lawrence College, has been a presenter at professional development courses throughout Eastern Ontario, and has served on a number of local boards, including the audit committee of the Limestone District School Board, the fundraising cabinet of the United Way, the finance committee of the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce and the finance committee of his local church. Adam is currently chair of the Board of Directors of the Limestone Learning Foundation.
